Well everyone, today I woke up and I have pretty much no pain! :)
I can’t believe how fast the past week went since my surgery but I’m glad it did! My jaw is still sore and when it comes to eating it does still feel like an Olympic sport, lol. But I’ve been using ice packs and drinking ice water and it has helped a lot. My throat looks so much better too now although I still have a nasty/funky after taste though. I’m 10 lbs lighter too! So can’t complain too much, haha. :) (
Still sticking to my post op diet of soft foods, my post-op check up is in 6 days. Hope I feel 100% back to normal by then! :) I think it’s all up hill from here now in the “feeling better” process, haha. Praying for no last minute bleeding or problems!

Your tonsil posts are freaking me out! I'm getting mine out on the 19th... now i'm scared.
My answer:Hey don’t worry! I was freaking out before getting mine out too. The mornings are the worst, but believe the first week goes by fast! (Plus I don’t handle pain well, lol) I’m at day 8 and I feel sooo much better today! It does have sucky moments, but drink plenty of cold water and you’ll feel soo much better! It does suck not being able to eat, but scrambled eggs, shaved ice, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes are life savors! It does get better! I wish you the best of luck getting yours out! If you have any questions let me know! Do you know if you are getting the stitched done or cauterized?

Uhh well, didn’t have fun going to the ER at 3:00 am -.-
Woke up coughing and bleeding, blah. But it’s all good! I guess it’s normal around day 7 for the scabs to start to come off. ENT on call said that my throat looks like it’s healing well and that by Sunday I should be pretty back to normal! Fingers crossed for no more bleeding though!
On a plus side though, 7 days since my tonsillectomy and I lost 10 lbs! Woot-woot!

Just got back from the ER…. blah.
The past 7 days I had little no major problems since my tonsillectomy. (Hallelujah!) So around 3:00 ish this morning I woke up to go take my pain medicine, got some water, and went back to sleep. I guess around 3:30 I started coughing and hacked up most my scabs off my throat. (Pieces of them started to come off yesterday too but not problems) However, I was startled awake because my mouth was filled with blood… So in a panic I rinsed my mouth a few times, woke my mom up, tried to keep cold water on it, trying not to panic, lol. Neither of us knew that it would be normal for this to happen around day 7 of recovery. So my mom took my to the ER. Anyways, I am alive! The bleeding lightened up significantly and I guess the ENT on call put something on my throat to patch it back up or something. But I’m alive! :)
I guess it’s normal for your mouth to look like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre happened in your mouth around day 7. I didn’t know. All I knew was I haven’t ate anything really since my surgery, so all I knew was that I didn’t cause it to bleed, lol. All better though! (and most the scabs are off!)
fingers crossed no more craziness the next few days, blah.
